About This Business
The Whitby Historical Society is a charitable, non-profit organization founded in 1967 to promote public interest in the history and heritage of Whitby and area through community outreach and educational programs for all ages. It operates the Lynde House Museum — offering interpretive tours and living-history activities — and maintains the Warren General Store, Clarissa Lynde's Heritage Kitchen Garden, an extensive artifact collection and an archive of Whitby's written and pictorial history. Programs include a monthly Tea and History Speakers series, History in the Park, Live History Theatre and children's museum camps.
