About This Business
Vandermeer Nursery Ltd is a family-owned garden centre in Ajax, Ontario, growing plants on its own land since 1961. Founded by Adrian Vandermeer with a single handmade greenhouse, the business is now run by the second and third generations of the Vandermeer family and spans about 36 acres with large production greenhouses. The nursery grows millions of plants each year and carries more than 4,000 varieties, including annuals, perennials, houseplants, roses, water plants, trees and shrubs, plus pond supplies, koi and goldfish, soil, planters and garden accessories. A produce market added in 2017 stocks fresh fruits and vegetables from Ontario farmers. The operation uses biological pest control, pollinator-friendly practices and water collection and recycling. Store hours published on the official site: Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm, and Thanksgiving 8am to 6pm.
