About This Business

Uxbridge Youth Theatre (UYT) is a non-profit youth theatre group founded in 2000, devoted to providing theatre opportunities to youth aged 9 to 20 in Uxbridge, Ontario — both on and off the stage. The company stages full-scale spring musical productions at the historic Uxbridge Music Hall (past productions include Legally Blonde and The Little Mermaid, with The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical announced for 2027), and holds auditions each October, publicized on the theatre's website and social channels. Youth can take part as performers, crew, and backstage volunteers, building creativity, confidence, and teamwork. The group is recognized by the Township of Uxbridge as one of its local theatre groups. The cover image is an AI-generated, text-free illustration; it is not a photo of a real production.

Charities

100 Men of Scugog

100 Men of Scugog is a charitable giving circle of local men supporting Scugog-area charities. Members gather for one-hour meetings at the Port Perry Legion, where three local charities each give a five-minute presentation and answer questions; members then vote and each writes a $100 cheque directly to the winning charity. Every dollar goes straight to local charity — there are no committees, no bank account and no fees. Founded in January 2015, the group celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 and has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for Scugog-area charities to date, including creating a bursary for Durham College students. New members are welcome at quarterly meetings.

100 Women Who Care Uxbridge is a volunteer-run philanthropic giving circle in Uxbridge. Meetings last about 60 minutes (registration 7:00 pm, meeting 7:30-8:30 pm). One hundred percent of money raised goes directly to the selected charity, as the group is run entirely by volunteers.
