About This Business

Uxbridge Free Methodist Church (UFMC) is a congregation of the Free Methodist Church in Canada with roots in Uxbridge since 1880. Rather than a large weekly service, UFMC gathers as a network of small, intentional home groups — a 'distributed church' — that meet weekly at convenient times in homes across Uxbridge, Port Perry, Zephyr, Udora, Lindsay and Jackson's Point. Once a month all the home groups come together for a Celebration Gathering with music, Bible engagement, prayer, personal stories, Communion and a shared meal, plus Prayer Gatherings for seeking God together. The church exists to help others know how much they are loved by Christ, and to be a people defined by that love. To visit a group, call or text 647-395-0369. Contact: uxbridgefmc@gmail.com or 905-852-3162. The cover image is an AI-generated, text-free illustration; it is not a photo of the real church.

Charities

100 Men of Scugog

100 Men of Scugog is a charitable giving circle of local men supporting Scugog-area charities. Members gather for one-hour meetings at the Port Perry Legion, where three local charities each give a five-minute presentation and answer questions; members then vote and each writes a $100 cheque directly to the winning charity. Every dollar goes straight to local charity — there are no committees, no bank account and no fees. Founded in January 2015, the group celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 and has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for Scugog-area charities to date, including creating a bursary for Durham College students. New members are welcome at quarterly meetings.
