About This Business
Swallowtail Native Plants is an Uxbridge grower specialising in Ontario native wildflower and grass seed. Founded in 2022 by Andrea D'Silva on a 13-acre property in Toronto's Greenbelt on the Oak Ridges Moraine, the nursery produces local-ecotype seed of wildflowers, grasses, sedges, asters, goldenrods and shrubs suited to the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands ecoregion. Seed is collected from local wild plant populations in Durham following ecological-restoration protocols, and the online shop ships seed within Ontario. Local pickup in Uxbridge is available by appointment.
