About This Business

The Sunderland Lions Community Theatre is a volunteer-based youth theatre group in Sunderland, Brock Township, backed by the Sunderland Lions Club. It stages one large-scale musical production each year in mid to late November at the Sunderland Town Hall, showcasing performers aged nine to eighteen. The company began in 2015 after founder Deborah De Jong proposed the idea to the Lions Club, opening with Annie Jr.; later shows have included Beauty and the Beast Jr., Mary Poppins Jr., Oliver Jr. and High School Musical Jr. Its 11th season presents The Wizard of Oz. Productions feature elaborate sets and live musical accompaniment, and performances routinely sell out.
