About This Business
Soper Creek Wildlife (formerly Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue) is Durham Region's only wildlife rehabilitation hospital, located in Clarington on 15 acres of protected forest on the Oak Ridges Moraine. The charity is licensed by the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry and Canadian Wildlife Services to rescue, rehabilitate and release sick, injured, abandoned and orphaned wildlife, with the goal of returning patients to the wild. It receives no government funding — its work is funded entirely by community support, educational programming, camps and events. The Wildlife Discovery Campus offers animal ambassador encounters, summer and PA Day discovery camps, school and youth programs, guided wildlife experiences, and seasonal events such as the WILD Winter Festival of Lights. The Nature Centre is open to the public by pre-booked appointments only; the rehabilitation facility is not open to the public. Contact and bookings are via the organization's official website.
