About This Business
No-kill cat sanctuary in North Pickering, founded in 1996 by Joyce Smith. The sanctuary originally rehabilitated wildlife and sheltered domestic animals, but after Ontario wildlife-rule changes around 2004 its work has focused on domestic animals and today it is exclusively for cats. It runs cat adoption and foster programmes; every adopted cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The sanctuary is volunteer-run, receives no government funding, and supports its work through donations and fundraising sales events such as yard, book and plant sales. Visits are arranged through the sanctuary's contact email. The site's contact page shows a current-day visiting-hours widget reading: "Open today: 03:30 p.m. – 05:00 p.m."
