The Pickering Rotary Ribfest is an annual three-day barbecue festival organized by the Rotary Club of Pickering, held at The Esplanade Park in downtown Pickering next to City Hall. Ten or more championship pit-masters compete with mobile kitchens and wood-fired barbecues for Best Ribs, Best Sauce, Best Chicken and the Judge's Favorite trophy. The weekend also features live music across genres, craft beer from Durham-region producers (including Town Brewery, Falcon Brewing Co., Little Beasts Brewing Co. and Slabtown Cider Co.), fresh-cut fries, blooming onions and family activities. 100% of proceeds support Rotary causes, from aiding unsheltered youth and families in need to addressing food insecurity and global health threats. The 2026 edition ran June 19 to 21, 2026 (Friday 11AM to 10PM, Saturday 11AM to 10PM, Sunday 11AM to 8PM) with admission by suggested $5 donation at the gate.
