Pegasus Animal Sanctuary is a registered non-profit farm animal sanctuary on roughly 98 acres of fields and forest at 2090 Scugog Line 3 in Port Perry. Founded in 2017 by Jack and Rita Hurst, it rescues abused, neglected and abandoned farm animals, rehabilitates them and gives them a lifelong home. Residents include donkeys, miniature horses, pigs, cows, ducks and chickens. The sanctuary is supported by community donations and a team of 50 to 55 weekly volunteers; visits are arranged in advance.
