Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+ (OSCC55+) is a not-for-profit organization running five branches across Oshawa with a wide range of inclusive leisure programs for adults 55 and over. A single membership opens every branch: courses in arts and crafts, computers and technology, dance, fitness and yoga; workshops, seminars and special events; drop-in recreation from cards to court sports; and community support services including congregate dining in branch cafeterias, foot care clinics delivered by registered nurses, income tax services, senior-friendly transportation between branches, group exercise and falls prevention classes, and a free client referral and peer support program. Membership is even free for adults turning 55 in the qualifying year, and more than 350 volunteers help deliver programs.
