About This Business

Northern Trails Vocal Connection is an auditioned community choir based in Uxbridge, founded in 2023 with its inaugural holiday concert that year. Its motto is 'simul in canticum' - together in song. The choir performs themed concert programs across the region, including programs written for and by children, holiday concerts with the Northdale Concert Band, Battle of Britain commemorations with author Ted Barris, and classical works such as the Faure Requiem. It also runs youth outreach workshops introducing young people in the community to choral singing. Singers join through an audition signup on the choir's website, and the choir is available to hire for performances. Because the choir's official website publishes no street address or phone, those fields are left blank rather than guessed.

Charities

100 Men of Scugog

100 Men of Scugog is a charitable giving circle of local men supporting Scugog-area charities. Members gather for one-hour meetings at the Port Perry Legion, where three local charities each give a five-minute presentation and answer questions; members then vote and each writes a $100 cheque directly to the winning charity. Every dollar goes straight to local charity — there are no committees, no bank account and no fees. Founded in January 2015, the group celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 and has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for Scugog-area charities to date, including creating a bursary for Durham College students. New members are welcome at quarterly meetings.

100 Women Who Care Uxbridge

100 Women Who Care Uxbridge is a volunteer-run philanthropic giving circle in Uxbridge. Members each donate $100 at quarterly meetings; the group nominates local registered charities or non-profits, hears short presentations, votes, and the selected organization receives the combined donation of up to $10,000. Meetings last about 60 minutes (registration 7:00 pm, meeting 7:30-8:30 pm). One hundred percent of money raised goes directly to the selected charity, as the group is run entirely by volunteers.
