Marigold Hospice Care operates Clarington's first residential hospice: a home-like residence in Clarington for individuals living with a life-limiting illness. Residents are supported around the clock by a care team of palliative and end-of-life care physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, personal support workers and trained volunteers. The hospice is now open and welcoming referrals, accepting patients from anywhere in Durham Region. A community-built charity a decade in the making, Marigold was established with broad local fundraising support, and the Municipality of Clarington contributed land and funding toward construction of the residence.
