About This Business

The Jury Lands Foundation is a volunteer-led nonprofit and registered charity working to preserve Camp 30 in Bowmanville, Clarington — Canada's only surviving World War II prisoner-of-war camp with original buildings still standing, and earlier a boys' reform school (1920s) and the site of the 1942 Battle of Bowmanville. The foundation educates the public, supports historical research, hosts free guided community tours and public events, and is leading the campaign to restore the camp's historic cafeteria building (stabilization and reconstruction planned). One hundred percent of donations support preservation of the site and delivery of public programs, including school educational resources. Tour reservations are made by emailing the foundation.
