About This Business
Grandview Kids at the Bowmanville Health Centre is the Bowmanville satellite of Grandview Kids, Durham Region's children's treatment centre. The family-centred, independently operated non-profit supports children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs to live at their full potential. The Bowmanville site is on the second floor of the Bowmanville Health Centre in Suite 201 at 222 King Street East. Services include centre-based rehabilitation — occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, recreation therapy, audiology, infant hearing, blind-low vision and social work — along with the Ontario Autism Program, the Preschool Outreach Program, school-based rehabilitation services, developmental paediatricians and specialized medical clinics, the Extensive Needs Service and the Family Engagement Program. The organization traces its history to 1953, when it began as the Oshawa and District Cerebral Palsy Parent Council, and now serves more than 10,000 children and youth each year from its Ajax headquarters and satellite sites across Durham Region.
