About This Business
The Cannington Centennial Museum is a community museum in the north-east corner of MacLeod Park, operated by the Cannington & Area Historical Society. The society was established in 1976 and marked 50 years in the community in 2026; the museum itself opened in 1978 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Village of Cannington. The museum is open from Victoria Day to Labour Day, Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and by appointment; group tours of the museum can be booked through the society. The grounds also hold Derryville Hall, a 19th-century Orange lodge building that was relocated to the museum complex in 1986 and now hosts society meetings, special events and displays covering the local military, retail, cultural and medical history of the area. The society runs a public programme of monthly meetings, open houses, a Canada Day celebration and an annual Culture Days event at its sites. Contact for tours and office hours is through the society's official website.
