Bereaved Families of Ontario – Durham Region provides peer support for people grieving the death of a loved one. Trained volunteer facilitators — who have themselves experienced loss — lead peer-support groups for adults, children, and families, and the chapter holds memorial events. Participation is free of charge.

Open In Google MapsGet Directions100 Men of Scugog is a charitable giving circle of local men supporting Scugog-area charities. Members gather for one-hour meetings at the Port Perry Legion, where three local charities each give a five-minute presentation and answer questions; members then vote and each writes a $100 cheque directly to the winning charity. Every dollar goes straight to local charity — there are no committees, no bank account and no fees. Founded in January 2015, the group celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 and has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for Scugog-area charities to date, including creating a bursary for Durham College students. New members are welcome at quarterly meetings.
The 41 Port Perry Army Cadet Corps is a free youth program for ages 12 to 18, and the fourth-oldest cadet corps in Canada, formed in 1898 and affiliated with the Ontario Regiment. Cadets build leadership, citizenship and self-confidence through drill, marksmanship, music, fitness and community service, and the corps is active at Scugog community events including Remembrance Day ceremonies and parades. The corps parades on Monday and Wednesday evenings during the training year and new cadets can join through the online application on its website. Co-sponsored by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 419.
A community-based charity providing HIV/AIDS-related support and prevention services across Durham Region. The AIDS Committee offers case management, support services for people living with HIV, harm-reduction education and supplies, youth outreach, and women's health initiatives. It is open Monday–Friday, 10am–5pm (closed 12:30–1pm).
