About This Business
The Beaverton Horticultural Society, nicknamed the Beaverton Garden Club, is a volunteer-run, non-profit gardening organization that has been beautifying Beaverton since 1922. A member of District 17 of the Ontario Horticultural Association, the society welcomes aspiring, novice and expert gardeners to its meetings, events and workshops, with volunteer opportunities, member benefits and discounts, and junior gardener memberships for under-18s. Local businesses can support the club through associate membership. Its emblem is the Scotch thistle, symbolizing endurance, unity and strength. The society's history includes planting trees and civic flower beds around Beaverton, such as the Point bed at Beaverton Town Hall and beds at the cenotaph and Mill Gate.
