About This Business
The Ajax Centre for the Arts is the Town of Ajax's community theatre and live entertainment venue, housed in a historic brick church built in 1871 at 78 Church Street South (formerly known as the St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture). The intimate room seats 150 with retractable theatre seating, a stage, professional theatre lighting and sound, dressing rooms and a Heintzman concert grand piano. Its programming includes live concerts, variety shows, film screenings such as the TIFF Ajax Film Circuit and Silver Screen Sundays, family programming and quiz nights. The building is also available for private and community rentals, including weddings, fundraisers, recitals, workshops and corporate events. Tickets for Town-presented shows are sold through the box office at 905-231-2787 and at the Ajax and McLean community centres and the Audley Recreation Centre.
