Visual Arts Centre of Clarington
The Visual Arts Centre of Clarington (VAC) is a not-for-profit public art gallery and art education centre in Bowmanville. Incorporated in 1976, it presents contemporary art exhibitions by local, regional and national artists and runs arts education programs for children, youth and adults in studios including a pottery studio with kilns, a painting studio and a loft gallery. The gallery occupies a historic four-storey 1905 former barley mill on the banks of Soper Creek, with traditional white-walled exhibition space, an unrestored loft installation space and an outdoor sculpture garden. Admission is free. Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 12pm-8pm, Saturday 12pm-4pm, closed Sunday and Monday (hours subject to change).
